How to Use Every Confirmed GTA 6 Phone App
GTA 6 replaces the flat corner menu of GTA 5 with a physical, in-world smartphone that Jason and Lucia actually hold in their hands. That single change reshapes how you bank, travel, steal and even stay in touch. This walkthrough covers each confirmed app and exactly what it does.

Pull the phone out and look at it like a real device
When you open the phone, the camera does not pop a flat UI into the corner of your screen. Instead it zooms over Jason or Lucia’s shoulder onto a genuine 3D phone held in their hand — you see what the character sees. According to community reporting, Rockstar North studio head Rob Nelson described it as a physical item that belongs to the character, “not a player-facing item.” That framing matters in practice: the two leads carry different apps and different conversations, so what is on screen depends on who you are playing.
Bank your cash before it burns a hole in your pocket
BuckMe is the CashApp parody and doubles as your bank account. You can spot it by the purple logo in the top right of the HUD. The purple number is your banked balance, and banked money is the money that survives a wipeout. The critical limitation: you cannot deposit cash through the phone. Any cash you are carrying has to be physically carried to an ATM before it becomes a BuckMe balance. Do that walk as soon as you can — the longer you hold a large cash stack, the more you risk losing it.
Get around with the two transport apps
RydeMe (spelled with a Y) is the Uber and Lyft parody and the closest thing GTA 6 has shown to fast travel. When you order a car you get a choice: skip the ride entirely for a quick trip, or sit in the back and hang out with the driver. For recovering a lost or abandoned personal vehicle, use Scooter Bros instead — it brings your own ride back to you rather than hailing a stranger’s.
Scan a car with Waink before you steal it
Waink is your pre-theft recon tool. Point it at any vehicle before you take it and it lists the security, the tool you need to beat it, the tracker tier, the sale value and the registration cost. Reading that readout first saves you from dragging a hot, tracked car across the map for nothing — check the tracker tier before you commit, and confirm you are carrying the right tool.
Keep your relationships alive with WhatUp
WhatUp handles texting, both with NPCs and with your partner. In GTA 6 it is more than a message feed — it is a relationship mechanic. Community reporting notes that Jason and Lucia message each other good morning and good night. Treat these exchanges as something to maintain rather than ignore; they are how the partnership between the two leads is reinforced.
Browse Snapmatic without leaving a trail
Snapmatic returns as an Instagram parody, but with a twist: it is browse-only. You can look through the feed, yet you cannot post. The in-fiction reason is simple — a couple on the run cannot afford a digital footprint. So use it to see what the world is sharing, not to broadcast your own crimes.
Let the fitness app pace your workouts
The fitness app is the quietest of the seven. It tells you when you should work out and tracks your fitness and workout status over time, effectively timing and logging your training. Check it before and after sessions to see how your conditioning is progressing.

- Banking beats carrying. Because BuckMe deposits require an ATM visit, plan a route to one before you are sitting on a dangerous amount of cash.
- Waink first, steal second. Scanning a car costs you nothing and can save a wasted getaway.
